General Rules

  1. Official announcements as well as statements of referees at any place (e.g. competition website, support ticket reply, skype, steam) can ignore or overrule the following rules in order to make the competition as fair as possible. In case of contradicting declarations, the most recent announcement or admin statement counts.

  3. By attending the competition participants acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules and regulations, official announcement, and with the statements and decisions made by the referees.
  4.  

  5. The organizing committee reserves the right to make changes to the rules in advance and reserves the right of final decision on the interpretation of the rules. Every participant acknowledges the right for the administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice.
  6.  

  7. Every team accepts the official schedule of the competition and declares its ability to be available during these times. Failure to turn up for matches results in a forfeiture of that match.
  8.  

Registration

  1. Registrants are required to submit their Facebook profile links and pictures during registration. The organizing committee reserves the right to use the registrant’s pictures for tournament marketing purposes.
  2.  

  3. Each team must consist of a minimum of 3 players with:
    • Nationalities of countries from the Southeast Asia / Oceania / China region.
    • Valid Citizenship of countries from the Southeast Asia / Oceania / China region.

    Players must present proof of residency or nationality for verification purposes.

  4.  

  5. Transgender females are allowed to participate in the tournament if they are able to provide valid documentation as proof that they have completed their transition. Valid documentation include, but are not limited to passports and / or national identity cards.
  6.  

  7. Registrants are responsible for their submitted information. The organizing committee has the rights to refuse any submission if information given is found to be inaccurate or contravenes any laws or regulations.
  8.  

  9. All information once verified and submitted by the registrants, any modifications will not be allowed.
  10.  

  11. Additional information and details of personal profiles will be requested at any stage of the tournament. Failure to comply will result in consequences determined by the organizing committee.
  12.  

  13. Teams are only allowed to register for one qualifier. Registrations in more than one qualifier will result in suspension.
  14.  

  15. Players are required to present a valid and identical ID to the registered information. Teams with players who fail to present their ID will not be allowed to compete in the tournament.
  16.  

Tournament

  1. All players are required to record footage of themselves playing during the tournament. A camera, webcam or mobile phone camera can be used for this purpose. The footage must include the Player playing during matches and the Player’s monitor / screen during matches.
  2.  

  3. In the event of a dispute, players are required to submit the respective footages to the organizing committee / admin team for review. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of that match.
  4.  

  5. Flight tickets and accommodation will be provided for teams who have qualified for the LAN Grand Finals in January 2019. The organizing committee will not provide flight tickets to players who do not reside in countries from the Southeast Asian / Oceania / China region.
  6.  

  7. If requested, teams and individual are required to cooperate with interviews, reporting, video shootings and other activities planned and organized by the organizers.
  8.  

  9. The primary communication platform is discord. Players are required to join the official Flight of the Valkyries Discord server and to be inside the allocated voice channels for the teams at all times during the tournament matches.
  10.  

  11. Players are required to dress appropriately and carry their personal ID with them during all matches. Players are allowed to wear uniforms with logos and sponsored labels. Any inappropriate labels or images are prohibited.
  12.  

  13. Qualified teams are required to attend the opening ceremony, prize giving ceremony, and other related activities including but not limited to interviews, video shooting, exhibition games, and offline activities.
  14.  

  15. FV has the right to use player’s video, audio and visual materials in non-commercial production and event materials.
  16.  

  17. During offline LAN tournaments, players are advised to bring their own gaming equipment. Players are required to bring the corresponding driver software to be installed under the supervision of referees. The organizing committee does not guarantee any assistance in installing devices on behalf of players.
  18.  

  19. Players are responsible for their own gaming equipment. Organizing committee are not responsible for any loss or damage of player’s gaming equipment at any time during the tournament. If a player’s gaming equipment are found to be faulty or violates the rules, players will be required to use the gaming equipment provided by the organizer.
  20.  

  21. The organizing committee are not responsible for any disorder caused by the personal gaming equipment.
  22.  

  23. Teams are not allowed to use any personal communication devices in the matching area. The use of non-communication devices and equipment needs to be confirmed and verified by the referee or it may result in a warning or loss by forfeit.
  24.  

  25. During matches, only tournament designated software allowed to be running on the PCs. If players wish to use any additional software, the consent of a referee is required. Using any other software or game client modifications during a match without the consent of a referee will be considered cheating.
  26.  

  27. Impersonating a player, match fixing, cheating and any actions that compromises the integrity of the match will result in the nullification of all gained points and immediate disqualification from the tournament.
  28.  

  29. The use of macros or other game enhancement softwares are not permitted. Usage of such softwares or programmes will result in immediate disqualification.
  30.  

 

Match Rules

  1. A Team has to consist of at least five (5) participants. Two (2) substitute players are allowed.
  2.  

  3. Substitute players may not be member of another team or have played a game for another team within the same tournament. Flight tickets and accommodation to the Grand Finals will not be covered by the tournament organizers.
  4.  

  5. Unexpected issues for one single player are not a valid reason to postpone matches.
  6.  

  7. A twenty (20) minute grace-time is given to teams to enter the lobby, after which, failure to have a full five (5) player team in the lobby will result in a forfeiture of that match.
  8.  

  9. In each match, a coin toss decides which team has Selection Priority. Alternates for game two. Coin toss is used again if there is a third game.

    BO1 side selection and B/P 

    1. Teams will select either Heads or Tails and the coin toss winner will be selected.
    2.  

    3. Coin toss winner (CTW) can choose either “First Ban / First Pick” or “Team Side Selection”.
    4.  

    5. If the winner chooses “First Ban / First Pick”, the opposing team possesses the right of “Team Side Selection”.

     
    BO3 side selection and B/P 

    1. Teams will select either Heads or Tails and the coin toss winner will be selected.
    2.  

    3. Coin toss winner can choose either “First Ban / First Pick” or “Team Side Selection”.
    4.  

    5. If the winner chooses “First Ban / First Pick”, the opposing team possesses the right of “Team Side Selection”.
    6. For the second game, the opposing team possesses the right of “Team Side Selection”.
    7. If the match goes to Game 3, premier choosing right will be decided by another coin tossing or other method with the same nature.

     

  13. Tiebreakers
  14. In a case of a tiebreaker, the following rules will be followed:

    1. Compare the matchup history of the tied teams
    2. Compare their match timings.

     

  15. If a delayed end of a previous match prohibits a match to start on schedule (due to either one of the involved teams still playing or the official broadcaster still streaming the previous match within the same tournament), the match time is changed to 5 minutes after the end of the previous match.
  16.  

  17. In a match consisting of more than one game, the official start time of each following game is set to 5 minutes after the end of the previous game.
  18.  

  19. If a team is not ready to start a game in time, the following punishments will be applied by the referee:
  20. ● 5 minutes late – Level 1 Draft Penalty
    ● 10 minutes late – Level 2 Draft Penalty
    ● 15 minutes late – Level 3 Draft Penalty
    ● 20 minutes late – Forfeit of the game (not the whole match)

  23. Win/Loss Condition: Types GG in public chat channel or destroys enemy’s Ancient.

  25. Each team has the right to pause the game for an acceptable reason. The game must not be resumed before both teams agree with it. The maximum pause time per team each game is ten (10) minutes only.
  26.  

  27. After the game officially starts, if the player disconnects or other accident happens, each team has two opportunities to call pauses and wait for disconnected player reconnects. However, players are required to type “P” in public chat channel before pausing the game and inform referees about pausing reasons.
  28.  

  29. If a player disconnects, the game is to be paused instantly. Everyone has up to ten (10) minutes to reconnect to the game (if the same person disconnects more than once, all times get added up). If this time is passed, the opposing team may continue the game, unless an admin demands the opposite.
  30.  

  31. The players are not allowed to watch or listen to any of these video streams or DotaTV at any time during their match.
  32.  

  33. If any serious bugs occur, the game has to be paused immediately and the administration decides how to continue. Knowingly abusing a bug is strictly forbidden.
  34.  

  35. The usage of any Dota-related tool aside from Steam and Dota 2 during a match is strictly forbidden.

 

Rule Violation & Punishment

  1. Breaking of the rules or ignoring the order of an admin may result in a punishment for a whole team or a specific player. Type and amount is chosen by a referee.

Prize Money

  1. All prize money transfers are handled via bank transfer.
  2.  

  3. Prize money will be distributed to winners within 90 days after the conclusion of the Grand Finals.
  4.  

  5. The prize money will only be transferred to the team captain. The team captain is responsible in ensuring that all members of the team will receive their respective percentage of the prize money.
