Our Story

Battle Arena Malaysia presents the "Flight of the Valkyries" (abbreviated as FV), which will be the very first SEA & China all-female LAN tournament with DOTA2 as the main and only title featured in the first year. The tournament will have a total prize pool of RM20,000 and feature countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Myanmar. Teams will compete online in Open Qualifiers which leads up to the Grand Finals at Battle Arena on January 2019.

On board with us on this endeavor are our Official Gaming Partners, MSI and NVIDIA; as well as our Official Peripheral Partner Corsair.

The Flight of the Valkyries’ tournament brand aims to be the voice of female empowerment in esports. We hope increase the awareness of the female community in this male-dominated industry, as there are many passionate females who have been deterred from pursuing a career in the esports industry due to the lack of a friendly environment and opportunities.

Flight of the Valkyries will be the first-ever LAN international Dota 2 championships exclusively for women, serving as the only available offline platform for women to hone their skills and compete against one another in a professional setting. By organizing this tournament annually, we hope that more female gamers will be encouraged to give competitive gaming a try.

There are many hidden, talented females in the region and we intend to bring the audience exclusive content which introduces a side of the female community that’s never been seen before.

Therefore, the Flight of the Valkyries project will take a different marketing approach - by casting the spotlight on individual female players in the esports industry, we allow the esports audience to get to know the players on a personal level, learning about their hometown, their passions and how they came to be where they are now.

Through this unique initiative, we hope that this tournament will set the stage and pave the way for more professional female tournaments in the future.
